Are y’all saying that what one says influences an unseen spirit to make things bad happen? That’s a pretty weird idea. I am certain that it is not true, since unseen spririts do not exist in reality. Yes, one can mock god and suffer no ill consequence – in the same way one can mock the frumious Bandersnitch with no bad effects.

Second – Many people do mock God and live. In fact, many of the world’s greatest mockers have become followers of Jesus Christ. This is only possible because of God’s great mercy on us. Mercy is not giving us what we deserve. And He does this because He loves us and would prefer we not perish in horrible ways from this earth nor spend eternity without Him.
