Worship God!

Joshua 24:15
And if you be unwilling to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell; but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

Strictly speaking, there is no such thing as atheism. We do not have the option of not worshipping something. We only have the option of what or whom we shall worship. Joshua knew this and presented Israel with the choice, not of whether to worship, but of worshipping Him Who is God or of worshipping stuff that is not God. The modern atheist who thinks he is freed from worship by his atheism sooner or later discovers that he is merely worshipping something else, whether it is “billions and billions of stars” or his own brain, or force, or pleasure, or money, or sex, or something else. In the end, the choice is always between the worship of God and the worship of a creature. It is never, ever between worshipping and not worshipping. Today, worship the only God worth our worship: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit who is the God of Israel.

Pet Peeves

We all have our stupid little pet peeves that make no sense to anyone but ourselves. One of mine is when people schedule weddings in October and don’t have a TV in the reception hall so I can keep up on the baseball playoffs. (I’ve walked out of a reception to call a friend for score updates in the past.) Well, now a friend of mine has scheduled her wedding in October in Germany. So it’s going to be hard to keep up with the playoffs over there at all.

To make matters worse, I just realized that since I’m making a vacation of it, I’ll be missing two episodes of Lost while I’m gone!

See what you’re doing to me, Ann!
