That it took me until to point out that today is the anniversary of the King’s death. Elvis died this day in 1977. I’m young enough that I don’t remember him being alive, but fortunate enough to recognize that although he is dead, his music lives on. I don’t think we’ll ever see a performer like him again who could unite generations and capture the hearts of the American people the way he did.

How do I protect my sighting of Elvis?
Copyright law does not protect sightings. However, copyright law will protect your photo (or other depiction) of your sighting of Elvis. Just send it to us with a Form VA application and the filing fee. No one can lawfully use your photo of your sighting, although someone else may file his own photo of his sighting. Copyright law protects the original photograph, not the subject of the photograph.
