It’s a sign of how busy I’ve been…

That it took me until to point out that today is the anniversary of the King’s death. Elvis died this day in 1977. I’m young enough that I don’t remember him being alive, but fortunate enough to recognize that although he is dead, his music lives on. I don’t think we’ll ever see a performer like him again who could unite generations and capture the hearts of the American people the way he did.

Lyrics to Mojo Nixon’s song “Elvis is Everywhere” including the following proof of the falsity of evolution:

We are all moving in perfect peace and harmony towards Elvisness
Soon all will become Elvis.
Everything everywhere will be Elvis.
Why do you think they call it evolution anyway?
It’s really Elvislution!
Elvislution!

“Christians are expected to behave furtively; they may call themselves Christians, as long as their public prayers are ‘nonsectarian’ —that is, avoiding the name of Jesus before mixed audiences… Drunkenness and foul language may be pardonable, but the glorification of Jesus is another matter.” —Joseph Sobran

Jay Leno: As I’m sure you’ve heard by now, the airlines are saying no more hair gels, shampoos, make-up or hair spray allowed in carry-on bags. Who’s attacking us? Drag queens? … They also said men cannot carry on shaving cream. Why? When was the last time you saw an Islamic militant guy with a can of shaving cream?
